Over 600 members and guests attended the 2026 Frontier Power and Frontier Propane Annual Meeting held at the Frontier Power facility on Friday, July 31st.
Each member attending received a $10 credit on their bill and an umbrella as a gift. Employees from Frontier Power, Frontier Propane and Frontier Supply were available to answer questions, and several energy displays were set up for the members to review. Hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cheese, and treats from Coshocton Coffee Connection and Whit’s were served to all.
Steven K. Nelson, CEO/General Manager introduced the current board members of Frontier Propane and Frontier Power.
Mr. Nelson introduced board president Bill Daugherty, who recognized retiring company attorney Michael Manning. Michael is the son of former Frontier Power manager Owen Manning, and is a partner in Owens & Manning Law Firm. He has been the company attorney since 1983 and has seen us through many changes, including starting Frontier Propane, the purchase of Frontier Supply, and our Frontier Power building expansion. He has also provided counsel concerning many other needs we’ve had throughout the years. Board president Bill Daugherty presented Michael with display award as a thank you for his many years of service to Frontier Power, Frontier Propane, and Frontier Supply, and introduced our new attorney, Robert Moore.
Mr. Nelson then reported on the Frontier Propane trustee election. Two positions for the board of trustees were available. For District A, Coshocton, Licking & Muskingum Counties, Jerrod Allison was re-elected. For District B, Holmes, Tuscarawas, Guernsey & Knox Counties, Ann Gano was elected.
Mr. Nelson also announced the Frontier Power board of trustees’ election winners. For District B-II, Tuscarawas County, Ann Gano was re-elected. District D, Coshocton County had Tim Dickerson being re-elected.
In his Frontier Propane report to the members, CEO/General Manager Steven K. Nelson summarized yearly tank sets, and yearly propane delivered, as well as totals from when the company was started in 1999. Of notable importance was that Frontier Propane delivered 2,279,900 gallons of gas in 2025, which is the most propane ever delivered for Frontier Propane in one year. Mr. Nelson stated “We do not anticipate our propane price changing very much since we have gallons pre-bought to try to hold down the cost to our members”.
Mr. Nelson reminded customers that Frontier Supply sells plumbing and electric supplies, installs water softeners, bottled water, and that two employees, Melvin McVay and Ethan Helmick are Generac generator certified for installations and warranty work.
In Mr. Nelson’s Frontier Power report to members, he highlighted our biggest project happening is preparing our system for Spectrum to attach to our poles to bring fiber to the homes in Coshocton and Tuscarawas counties. Over the last three and a half years, spectrum has paid the total cost to replace over 2,000 poles in our service territory and will continue for the next two years. Mr. Nelson also reminded members that their electric bills had credits issued for the return of capital credits, and this was part of how a cooperative operates. The total issued to all members was $300,000. Frontier Power is also in the midst of collecting correct email and phone numbers for our members, helping to expedite outages and other services. We are also encouraging members to get their bills via email and to use the SmartHub app to make bill payments.
Mr. Nelson thanked members for their loyalty and attending the meeting. After the meeting, names were drawn for one $100 bill credit and ten $25 bill credits for Frontier Power, and one $100 bill credit and ten $25 bill credits for Frontier Propane.
